Shirley Vera Murphy

The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor on Monday, February 9, 2015, surrounded by her loving family and her extended Wedgewood Manor family, of our beautiful mom, Shirley Vera Murphy (nee Keough) formerly of Searletown, aged 79 years. Born in Summerside, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Clara Keough (nee Bernard). Survived by her ten children, Paul (Leona) of Searletown, Patsy (Dale Paynter) of Borden-Carleton, Kevin (Barb) of Searletown, David (Marilyn) of Searletown, Judy (John Grady) of Summerside, Marlene (Mike Brown) of Ayr, Ontario, Lorna (Gordie Walsh) of Borden-Carleton, Bob (Krista) of Searletown, Angie (Joe Gallant) of St. Philip, and Kenny (Kim) of Emerald. Grandmother of Scott, Andy, Bethany, Patrick, Craig, Chad, Colin, Mary-lynn, Jeffrey, Shelby-lynn, Meghan, Madison, Matthew, Sarah, Beth, Morgan, and Cameron. Great grand-mother of Xander and Rohan Grady. Survived by brothers and sisters, Everett, Ernie, Leo, Kenny, Billy, Bobby, Cindy, Ruthie, Diane, Theresa, Rita, and Doris. Predeceased by her husband, Leo; infant triplets, Erma, Barbara and Albert; brother, Joe; sisters, Mae and Helen and parents-in-law, George and Margaret Murphy.  Resting at Kinkora Place, Kinkora on Thursday, February 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, Seven Mile Bay on Friday, February 13 at 10:30 am.  Donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to St. Peter’s Cemetery Fund or Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund. Interment later in the parish cemetery.  CWL members will say prayers at the visitation on Thursday, February 12 at 1: 30 pm.

Joseph “Austin” McCabe

The death occurred at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 of Joseph “Austin” McCabe of Middleton, aged 81 years.  Austin was born on Christmas Day, 1933 in North Carleton to his parents, the late Eugene and Marie (nee McCarville) McCabe.  Beloved brother of Eunice Savidant of Summerside; Phyllis (the late Elmer) Koughan of Charlottetown and Mary (Louis) Trainor of Summerside.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Austin was predeceased by his sisters, Theresa and Mary and brothers, Leo and Ivan.  Resting at Kinkora Place in Kinkora. Visiting hours on Friday, February 6 from 2 to 5 pm.  Funeral Saturday, February 7 at St. Peter’s Church, Seven Mile Bay, with funeral Mass at 10:30 am.  Interment later in St. Malachy’s Church Cemetery, Kinkora.  Donations in Austin’s memory may be made to the St. Malachy’s Church Cemetery Fund or the PEI Heart and Stroke Foundation.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora.

Mae Catherine Sherry

After a brief illness the death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on January 27, 2015 of Mae Catherine Sherry of Charlottetown and formerly of Albany. Born in 1921 in New Haven, she was the daughter of James and Sarah (Currie) Cavanaugh. She is predeceased by her husband Rowan (1991), daughter Rowena (Earle) Smith (2011), son Rudy (1963) and infant son Gerard (1957). Survived by children Beverly (Parnell) Grant; Audrey (Richard) Gallant; Gloria (Alan) Paynter; Paula (Phillip) MacDonald all of PEI and Leigh (Marilee) Sherry of Brantford, ON. Also survived by 23 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren; her sister, Stella (Lorne deceased) Sobey of Charlottetown; Ernest(Jean) Cavanaugh of Boston, MA; Leona (Albert) Adams and Roma (Jack) Naylor of Ontario. Also survived by sisters-in-law Helen Murray and Patricia Sherry. Predeceased by sisters Reta (Frances deceased) Murphy and Mary (Charles) Currie. Resting at Kinkora Place, Kinkora. The death occurred at South Shore Villa, Crapaud on Sunday, January 4, 2015 of M. C. Reta DesRoches of South Shore Villa and formerly of Borden Senior Citizen’s Home, age 95 years. Born in Fernwoood, Reta was a daughter of the late Mack Gallant and the late Angelina Cassie. Survived by sons and daughters. Clifford (Karen) Mississauga, ON; George (Donna), Mississauga, ON; Marion Richards, Summerside; Elaine Peters (Tommy Wigmore), Breadalbane; Ronnie (Judy), North Carleton; Carol Ann (Greg Warren), Searletown and Terry (Linda Sidor), Tyne Valley. Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and by her sister, Bella Chaisson, Stoney Creek, ON. Predeceased by her daughter, Ida Gaudet and son-in-law, Edward and by brothers, Ernest, Frank, Elmer, Albert and George Gallant and by sister, Ida Minnick. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora. Norma Mae Noonan

At Prince County Hospital on Sunday, December 28, 2014 of Norma Mae Noonan (nee Collicutt), of Kinkora and formerly of Westmoreland, age 60 years.  Born in Alberton, Norma was a daughter of the late Johnston George Collicutt and the late Margaret Mae (Jones) Collicutt.  She is predeceased by her husband, Donald Noonan.  Sister of Eileen (late Dale Ellis), Kinkora; Elsie Heartless, Winnipeg; Leta DesRoches, Howlan and Percy, Borden-Carleton.  Mother of Adam Daniel Noonan, Charlottetown and Nicholas Wayne Noonan, Summerside.  Predeceased by a son, Jeffery and brothers, Earl, Charles and Glen.  Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora with visiting hours Tuesday, December 30 from 2 – 4pm.  Funeral service will be at the Lawless Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 31 at 11am conducted by Rev. Robert C. Shea

At Summerset Manor, Summerside on Saturday, November 29, 2014 of Robert C. Shea formerly of Kinkora, aged 92 years.  Born in Alberton, he was a son of the late Raymond Shea and Irene (Fitzsimmons) Shea.  Survived by daughters and sons, Janet (Mike) Murphy, Preston (JoAnne) Shea, Barry (Joh) Shea, Allan Shea, Mary Lynn (Robert) Arsenault, Roger (Anne Marie) Shea, Sharon (David) MacLeod, Carla (Rodney) Murray, Richard (Paula) Shea and Jennifer (Kyle) Murray.  Also survived by sisters, Irene Smith and Myrtle McKeirney; 30 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  Visitation at Kinkora Place on Monday, December 1 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.  Funeral at St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 10 am.  If so desired, donations in Robert’s (Bob’s) memory may be made to a society of your choice.  Interment will take place at a later date in St. Malachy’s Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora.

At her late residence on Saturday, October 25, 2014 of Colleen Donna Campbell of Borden-Carleton, aged 57 years. Born on April 29, 1957, Colleen was a daughter of the late Edmund Campbell and the late Jenny (Kilbride) Campbell.  Survived by daughter Jill (Tim) Lui and granddaughters Ashley, Alex and Abbie; sisters, Deena (Louis) Smith, Riverview, NB; Anna Marie (deceased) Wayne Reeves, Kinkora; Debbie (Danny) Bernard, Borden-Carleton; Louise (Eric) Jay, St. Stephen, NB; Laurie (Steven) Leard, Borden-Carleton and by brothers, Bruce (Ann) Campbell, Borden-Carleton; Scott (friend Virgina) Campbell, Kinkarden, ON and Shawn (Brenda) Campbell, Lloydminister, AB. Predeceased by parents, Edmund and Jenny (Kilbride) Campbell as well as sister, Anna Marie Reeves and nephews, Joel Smith and Justin Hunter. The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her large loving family, at the South Shore Villa in Crapaud, on October 9, 2014 of Laura Dougay (Mulligan), formerly of Kinkora.  Laura was born in Newton, to her late parents Jerome and Gertrude (Murphy) Mulligan.  Predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, John Dougay. Devoted mother of Paulette Bassett (Wendall), St. Eleanor’s; Brenda Ranahan (Arthur), Borden-Carleton; David Dougay, Kinkora; Paul Dougay (Maureen), Summerside; Nelson Dougay (Brenda), Cornwall; Michael Dougay, Kinkora and Tracy Thomson (Trent), Shamrock.  Loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Gladys Dougay, St. John, NB; Doug Preston, Brantford, Ontario; Joseph and Tennie Dougay, Albany and by numerous nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her sister Iris Campbell, brother-in-law George Campbell and grandson, Ryan Dougay;  brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Edna and Phillip Dougay, Amiel Dougay, Ned and Marie Dougay, Eva and Fred Leard, Melvin and Mary Dougay, Myrtle Preston, Alice and Fred Dougay, infant brother Alyre Dougay and by parents-in-law Jerome and Veronica Dougay.
