The sudden death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Wednesday, July 9 of Graham Michael Harris. Beloved husband of Susan (Sue). A Funeral Service will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Charlottetown on Thursday, July 31st at 10 am. (Please note time change of Service). All friends of Graham are most welcome to attend. Donations in memory of Graham may be made to St. Peter`s Cathedral 150 Campaign Fund, or to the Prince County Hospital, Summerside.

Raymond Vincent Basil Sherry

The death occurred in Brampton, Ontario on July 22, 2014, of Raymond Sherry, son of the late Basil and Mary Sherry of Albany, P.E.I., aged 68 years. He is survived by a daughter, Kim; a son, Leonard and their mother, Dorothy.  He also leaves to mourn, a granddaughter, Brigid; sisters, Annie (late Ellsworth Noonan), Lorraine (Philip) Noonan; Frances (late Louis McCourt) and Helena (Reg) Hamill; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents  he was predeceased by sisters, Mabel (late Robert Carmichael); Bernice and Dorothy and a brother Leonard.  Funeral and burial in Brampton, Ontario.

Leah Colene Smith

Smith, Leah Colene – Peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Beloved daughter of Leo and the late Marilyn Smith (Noonan); Sister to Kellie and Donald Mulligan and special Aunt to Jarrett and Alexis Mulligan, Emerald; Jason and (Kim), special Aunt to Alex and Oliver, Cornwall; Matthew (Cathy), and special Aunt to Bailey and Aidan, Bridgewater, N.S.  She is survived by a loving list of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many Special Friends from around the continent, whom have reached out to her during this past year. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Nathan Lamond, Lynn Shore, Dr. Bowes and Laverne, and the many nurses for their amazing care in Oncology and the Palliative Care unit.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the The Angel Project www.theangelproject.ca, the Palliative Care Unit at the Prince County Hospital www.pchcare.com, or the QEII Foundation www.qe2foundation.ca. would be appreciated.  Private family visiting hours only.  Funeral to be held on Thursday, July 24 at 11 am at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Seven Mile Bay. Elsie Loretta (Hughes) Smith

 

The death occurred at Prince County Hospital on Friday, July 4, 2014 of Elsie Loretta (Hughes) Smith of South Shore Villa, formerly of Summerside and Cornwall, aged 87 years.  Wife of the late Edwin Smith.  Survived by sisters, Mabel Perry (late Peter), Summerside; twin Marjorie Clow (late Earl), South Shore Villa; Florence Rooney (late Gerald), Summerside; sisters-in-law, Sr. Catherine Smith, CND and Sr. Patricia Smith, CND, Charlottetown; Margaret (Clive), Nobrega; Ruth Smith, Ontario and several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by parents Marshall and Ella (Smith) Hughes; brothers, Gerald and Ernest and sister, Irene Lahey. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora.  Visiting hours Tuesday, July 8 from 6-9 pm.  Funeral Mass at St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora on Wednesday, July 9 at 10:30 am.  Interment will follow in St. Malachy’s Cemetery.  If so desired memorial contributions to Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.  Members of the CWL will say prayers at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 8 at 5:30 pm.

Jean Elizabeth Keough

Jean Elizabeth Keough 1921-2014

Peacefully in the presence of the Lord at the Garden Home on June 18th of Jean Keough, 92 years, formerly of 108 Walthen Drive, Charlottetown, where she resided for many years with her niece Norma Kenny. Jean is survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Predeceased by her parents Martin & Maude Keough; sisters, Kay Kenny and Helena Green; brother Dan Keough and step-sister, Mae MacNeil. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora. Elaine Margaret Croken-McCourt

Peacefully surrounded by her family at the Prince County Hospital on Thursday, May 15, 2014 of Elaine Margaret Croken-McCourt (nee Hammill) in her 83rd year. Born in Lower Freetown on January 21, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Redverse Patrick Hammill and Mary Eva (Dawson) Hammill. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd McCourt and the late Pius Croken. Dear mother of Alfred (Louise), Long Creek; Danny of Emerald; Leonard of Edmonton, Alberta; Elmer (Lorna), Emerald and Paul (Heather), Emerald. Besides her parents Elaine is predeceased by sons Robert and Wilfred; an infant son, Ronnie; brothers, Gordon (Gen), Fr. Preston, and sister, Freda Smith (Wilfred). Survived by brothers, Eric (Helen) Hammill; Edwin (Joan) Hammill and Elmer (Mary) Hammill. Also survived by a daughter-in-law, Una of Hampsire; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora. Visiting hours Sunday, May 18 from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, May 19 at St. James Church, Summerfield. Interment in the parish cemetery. David Floyd Jay

At the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Friday, May 9, 2014 of “David” Floyd Jay of Summerside and formerly of Kinkora, aged 86 years.  Born in Mount Stewart, he was a son of the late Francis Jay and the late Eunice (MacIntyre) Jay.  Dave is survived by his wife Dorothy (Cheverie) Jay and the following sons and daughters:  Wayne (Sandra), Freetown; Joseph (Joey) (Marcia), Summerside; Donna (Angus) Beck, Charlottetown; Maureen (George) Campbell, Park Corner; Kerry (Linda) Lacombe, Alberta; Colleen (John) Setter, Red Deer, Alberta and Davey of Summerside.  Brother of Paul, Deep River, Ontario; Kimble, Hamilton, Ontario and  Mary, (Glen) Paterson, Covehead.   Survived by 15 grandchildren  and 3 great grandchildren.  Predeceased by parents, Francis Jay and Eunice (MacIntyre) Jay;  a brother, Frankie and sisters, Leona, June and Natalie.  Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora.  No visitation by Dave’s request.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora on Monday, May 12 at 10 am.

Beloved wife of the late Alan (Hav) Rogers. Loving mother of Cherisse Rogers-Bryanton (Wade), Borden Carleton and Ashtin (Marilyn), Toronto, Ontario and grandmother to Kirstin Bryanton. Born in Summerside, P.E.I. on September 5, 1958. Dear daughter of the late William and Hazel MacDonald, and daughter-in- law of the late Haviland and Doris Rogers. Sister to Vernon MacDonald, Central Bedeque; Lloyd (Dianne), Borden-Carleton; Mary MacDonald, Borden-Carleton.
